Petra Bulantova focuses on photojournalism and documentary photography from a perspective of fine art while portraying social and natural environments through paying close attention to the play of light, shadow and negative space. 

Influenced by the work of Sebastiao Salgado (social documentary photography and photojournalism), Karl Blossfeldt (close-up photographs of plants and living things), Andreas Gursky (large format architecture and landscape photographs), Alex Majoli (documentary photography).
